The Story Continues ...

After the amazing success of Postcards from Louie I was approached by Nick Andrews from the Joseph Rowntree Foundation based at Swansea University working on a major research project entitled A Better Life with and for older people. Nick asked me to be part of the DEEP research in the Development of Evidence Enriched Practice.

I was kindly funded as a resident storyteller & musician at Gwalia Plas Y Mor in Bury Port and met George Davies, who was Wales first strong man and Betti who was a singer in the late 1930's on the West Wales Coast, as well as being in the Land Army.

We collaborated and created 2 more resources. Betti's CD went into Care Homes as an aid for Table Top Choirs and George's Books went onto feature at JRF Conferences in Wales and Scotland. In addition, his book became part of pedagogy training in primary education. Both resources were distributed throughout libraries and are held at the National Library of Wales, as well as The People's Collection.

Up until this point we had created books and CD's distributed via my sister company Parlour Press Community Publishing ... http://www.cherylbeermusic.com/parlour-press.html)

Read my next blog to find out how we moved from Books and CD's to develop creative online digital resources.
